Appeasing Terrorists Gets You Nowhere

When this whole war on terror started there were countries that refused to join us. France, Germany, and Russia refused mostly because they were up to their eyes in the oil-for-food scandal. They gave us reasons that they did not want to be there including, of course, if we leave the terrorists alone they will leave us alone. Canada, who did not support us in our efforts found out last week that they are not immune from terrorism when a cell of peaceful Islamic terrorists was captured while planning big attacks in the Great White North.

The modern French do not have a good history with war or defending themselves. They allowed their country to be taken over by the Germans and the US had to go in and get it back for them. They just do not know how to do much except surrender. There attitude is that the terrorists have not bothered them, why should they worry. The terrorists have said they are going to attack the countries that support the US so France should be safe.

Guess again. The French broke up a terror cell that was planning to blow up a bunch of things in Paris including the Eiffel Tower:

A group of Islamist militants who planned an attack on the Eiffel Tower have been jailed by a French court.
Their targets around central Paris also included shops and police stations.

Amazingly, the French were a target even though they left the terrorists alone. Looks like we were right all along. You can not negotiate with a terrorist and we need to capture or kill them before they strike again. If they eventually hit Paris I would hope we would extend the same courtesy to the French that they ex trended to us and mind our own business. They can take care of themselves...

Suicide Bombers Without The Bombs

Three terrorists being held at Club Gitmo in beautiful sunny Cuba hanged themselves over the weekend. Looks like terrorists have been having problems this week with staying in and getting bombed or just hanging around. Well, now we are hearing all the outcry from the people who think that holding terrorists in jail offends them. We even have the Saudis complaining about human rights. Now that in and of itself is a laugh. These terrorists and their supporters could be in the Democratic party the way they keep a straight face when saying such outlandish things. Here are a few quotes from the article:

Military officials said the suicides were coordinated acts of protests, but human rights activists and defense attorneys said the deaths signaled the desperation of many of the 460 detainees held on suspicion of links to al-Qaida and the Taliban.

Amnesty International said the apparent suicides "are the tragic results of years of arbitrary and indefinite detention" and called the prison "an indictment" of the Bush administration's human rights record.

Let's take a look at these things. Will someone explain to me why it is that when a terrorist in jail commits suicide by hanging himself it is an act of desperation but when he straps a bomb to his chest and kills a bunch of women and children he is an insurgent and a freedom fighter protesting the west? Why is it when these guys commit suicide and kill others they are heroes but if they die alone they are not? How is it that Bush can get blamed when a suicide bomber kills himself and many innocents and yet also get blamed when the same kind of person commits suicide and kills no one else? The fact that these guys killed themselves does not bother me one bit. They would have done that if they were free and others would have died. Just consider them suicide bombers in training who failed the class. Additionally, if the dead guys did this out of desperation can we conclude that desperation is what causes them to blow themselves up? Since desperation causes suicide we can now see, with the help of the left, that these suicide bombers kill themselves out of desperation because they are LOSING the war.

Now for the dumb asses at Amnesty International. Let us understand that the first problem with this organization is AMNESTY. That means to forget that a person has done bad things. Like our Senate wants to do with ILLEGALS. One can only hope that the folks from AI are the targets if these monsters are released. However, looking at the statement one has to see the obvious moonbat contradictions. First there is the subtle swipe at the military in the "apparent suicides" (translated: They say it is suicide but the murderers in the military probably did it and is trying to cover it up). Then we hear about these suicides being the tragic results of us holding them captive, blah, blah. OK, then what events cause these guys to blow themselves up when they are not captive? When they are not at Club Gitmo and are roaming around the sandbox they should have no reason to commit suicide so why do they? Perhaps, as the Admiral says in the article. They have no regard for human life, ours or their own.

And last, they military will take away bedsheets in the morning and issue them at night. What do you want to bet that some jackass from the left side of Congress calls this torture? My God, we can not take away their sheets! If we do that what will they wear on their heads? I say why should we give them any sheets at all? They are used to sleeping on the sand, not having bed sheets should be no problem. But if they are bound to hang themselves then I say given them a whole linen closet full of sheets. But mark my words, someone will complain that these terrorists are being deprived of bed sheets.

Oh yeah, prisoners in US jails commit suicide all the time. If we follow the logic of these folks, we will need to release all criminals so they do not become desperate. Oh wait, the only people our government lets get away with crime are the ILLEGALS...

They had better be careful down at Club Gitmo or John Murtha is going to accuse them of murder......

Where Is The MSM Coverage?

We are all waiting on the outcome of the investigation into the Marine's actions at Haditha. The moonbats and the Drive By Media have been gloating over this story and have all but found the marines guilty and are ready to hang them. We have constant updates on the story and we have a bunch of Iraqis telling a bunch of different stories. The DBM is there to cover every one of those stories. We get to hear every one of them. We also get to hear the DBM constantly remind us that the Marines who fired that day are under investigation as are their commanders because of a possible cover-up. We also have loud mouth Jack Murtha boldly proclaiming that those Marines murdered people. Murtha seems to be able to transport himself back in time to different locations so that he can observe the action. Murtha could have said "if the Marines shot people who were not shooting at them then it was an act of murder." Instead he laid it out in no uncertain terms that these men, men more courageous than he, have murdered innocent civilians. John Murtha is a coward. There I said it. I thank him for his service to this country but the fact is he is a coward. He wants us to cut and run because he says we can not win (we are winning).

In all of the fray with the Haditha incident one thing was missing from the DBM and that was the stories of the men who were there. The DBM did not get their stories because to the elitists in the liberal press the ruthless killers in the military had to be wrong. The Marines are murderers, Murtha confirmed it. Without the benefit of due process, the DBM and the moonbats in Congress have proclaim the Marines guilty. These are the same people who demand due process for the terrorists at Club Gitmo. To them, our service members do not rate the same as a terrorist.

There is a story in the Washington Post and the sergeant who was in charge of the mission tells what happened. He tells everyone that they followed their rules of engagement and the Lieutenant who arrived during the battle was informed and were the members of the chain of command that there had been civilian casualties. The entire story sounds genuine and not contrived like the endless stories we hear from the so called witnesses in the village. I have noticed a couple of things about Iraq. The first is that there are eye witnesses to every action an American takes and a village of a million witnesses nothing when a terrorist walks in and blows up the place. The other is that Iraq is one of the few places where 50 people can live in a village and a thousand will witness any incident involving Americans.

All that aside, I suggest you read the story I have linked to and then decide if these men are ruthless killers or if they deserve the benefit of due process. I think it would be helpful if they had their day without punks like John Murtha proclaiming their guilt. Why couldn't Murtha have been on one of those Congressional junkets to Haditha when this happened? Then he could have gotten a close up look at what really happened. Oh wait, he would have been hiding as soon as something blew up. It is hard to see when you are face down in the sand.

How Does The MSM View Islamofascists And US Marines?

Let me start this post by stating right up front that I believe the US Marines involved in the incident at Haditha are innocent until they are proven guilty. Likewise, those Muslims caught in Canada and accused of plotting terrorist strikes are just as innocent until they are proven guilty. This is a standard that America lives by and just because one might not care for the people involved it does not diminish this basic principle.

Unfortunately, the MSM does not look at things with such an even handed approach. To the MSM, those who are involved in the suspected terrorist plot are being targeted by the non-Muslim population. To the MSM and its moonbat drones, even if these people are guilty, they do not represent the religion of peace. They are just a small fringe that went wrong and it is a racist America that would look down on all Muslims. Even the Muslim communities that raise and harbor these kinds of people feel the same way. Every time a terrorist plot is revealed and people captured or killed, we are reminded by the Imams that they are not representative of the Muslim population as a whole. Even though those very Imams preach conversion to Islam or death, they continue to tell us how peaceful they are and that a few bad apples do not speak for the community at large.

When Muslims are caught in terrorist sting operations, the Muslims of the world unite and riot. They threaten other countries and they make disparaging remarks about the very countries that allow them a place to live. One look at the Al Ghurabaa website reveals how Muslims around the world view the capture of would be Muslim terrorists:

The posters they place for download do not condemn the terrorists. Instead they insult the people who caught them. The truth is that the Western media does not fabricate stories about Muslims. On one hand the MSM reports the ever growing number of raids and then on the other it excuses the behavior and calls for civility from everyone else. We are constantly reminded how peaceful this religion is despite the growing number of plots planned and/or executed by its followers.

Now what about the US Marines? Unlike the suspected terrorists, the Marines do not get the benefit of the doubt from the MSM or the moonbats at large. The incident at Haditha is under investigation but one would be hard pressed to find articles indicating this information. Most articles from the MSM use words like "massacre" and "Mei Lei" and they go out of their way to condemn the people involved. To top it off, the MSM indicates that this behavior is the mind set of all US service members. With people like Congressman Murtha fueling the fire by calling the actions murder, without a complete investigation, the MSM takes liberties with the honor and reputation of the military. They might say they support the military but that is a bunch of horse dung. They go out of their way to make sure America is informed (if you can call what they do informing) that our military is a bunch of murderers as a result of a failed policy in Iraq.

The vindictive shots at our military are not far removed from the now famous John Kerry speech to Congress in which he says:

"They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads," "randomly shot at civilians," and "razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn." (Source)

The MSM does nothing different. Kerry lied when he said that in order to show the military in a disparaging light. Much like the MSM, Kerry tried to soften this with his own version of I support the troops when he reported for duty like some big war hero who was returning "in a fashion reminiscent of Douglas MacArthur" and that he was there to save the day. The American public did not buy his crap and they should not buy the crap in the MSM. Need more proof that the MSM paints the military with a broad brush that only has one color? Try this from a great post over at Webloggin(read it, you will love it):

The apparent cold-blooded killing last November of 24 Iraqi civilians by United States marines at Haditha will be hard to dispose of with another Washington damage control operation. The Iraqi government has made clear that it will not sit still for one, and neither should the American people. This affair cannot simply be dismissed as the spontaneous cruelty of a few bad men.

One has to ask why it is that the MSM gives a free pass to terror suspects and reminds us that they are only accused and pleads for us not to look at all Muslims as bad people (if they even mention that the suspects are Muslims) but goes to any length to portray all service members as bad people for the actions of a few, even when those few have yet to be found guilty of, or charged with, anything? Fewer than 20 people involved in Abu Ghraib led to condemnation of the whole military by the moonbats and the Media Wing of the Democratic Party. Marines involved in Haditha are guilty of murder according to a US Congressman and that same Media Wing.

Then you have to ask yourself why it is that when suspected terrorists are arrested there is so much backlash from the Muslim community? They claim racism, threaten violence and hold up signs indicating another 9/11 is coming or that we will all convert or die. Our military however, does not gather together and threaten to go on killing sprees, nor do they claim (though they would be right) that the MSM is out to get them. They just do their jobs and move on.

The last thing that you need to ask is, why is it that when our military is accused of an atrocity, like killing civilians, the MSM swarms like Muslims over a dead infidel but they do not bat an eyelash at the deaths of innocent civilians caused each and every day by the peaceful Muslims they so vehemently defend?
